For a successful application, make sure your personal and professional qualifications really do meet the actual requirements for the vacancy and that your application is complete and does not contain any mistakes. Ideally, an application should be addressed to a particular person, usually the consultant handling the assignment. Don’t forget to include details of the vacancy you are interested in and the corresponding reference number.

You will also increase your chances of success if your application can be processed quickly and easily, so it should include important information like your postal and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers or date of birth. Documents sent in electronic format should also form a presentable application when printed out. We also recommend that you attach copies of your CV and cover letter in Word format to any e-mail applications. Don’t forget: each and every one of your applications is like a personal business card!

Always include details of why you are interested in a particular vacancy right from the very start and write a separate cover letter for each application.
